The Ladies' Golf section was established at Woodcote Park in 1999 and now has over 200 lady golf pass holders. Under the leadership of the current Lady Captain, Susan Minihan, and with the support of the Golf Committee, the section is a thriving part of the golf community.
Golf Committee Members: Susan Minihan- Lady Captain, Sarah Kingsbury- Vice Lady Captain and Kerrie Culff.
Competitions- are held weekly on a Tuesday and a Saturday, these are a mix of non qualifying and qualifying competitions open to ladies with a WHS handicap index. Events and competitions are publicised in the members diary as well as on Intelligent golf. To sign-up for a competition please sign-up through the Intelligent Golf portal one month prior to the date of the competition.
To complete the online signup process please follow these steps;
Select Intelligent Golf on the Club website.
Select the competition you would like to enter.
Select online sign-up.
The online sign-up sheet will show the available tee times.
Choose your preferred tee time and add your details.
The online sign up procedure depends on the format of the competition which can be shown in the rules of the competition.
A competition fee will be charged for each competition and debited from lady member's accounts. Scorecards for these competitions can be collected from the Golf Reception.
The last opportunity to sign up online will be 48 hours before the date of the competition. If it is less than 48 hours until the competition, then ladies can still sign up by phoning Golf Reception. Should you wish to cancel after making an online booking, or if you have any questions relating to the booking, please contact Golf Reception.
Please do take note of your playing partners so you can contact them and the Golf Operations office if you have to cancel. Cancellations within 24 hours of your tee time are monitored by the Ladies Golf Committee and "˜no shows' on the day are penalised with a three match ban.
Matches- The section play a number of friendly matches from spring to autumn and also take part in the Pearson Trophy and other interclub events. Full details and sign up procedures can be found match management on Intelligent golf. Friendly matches are run by Julie Clark.
Mixed Golf-Mixed golf events are publicised in the diary and posted on the mixed notice board in the 19th Hole. These include interclub matches, roll-ups, bank holiday honours board competitions and the mixed knockout. Mixed golf is run by Sarah Kingsbury.
Handicaps: If you have a Golf Pass and are now ready to apply for a handicap, then you need to put in three cards to the Golf Operations Office, one of which must be good enough to be awarded a handicap. Cards must be for 18 holes on either course and be marked by anyone with an official handicap. If you need someone to mark a card for you, please speak to one of the Committee or the Golf Operations Office.
