Seniors Golf

All male golf passholders aged 60 and over with a handicap are automatically eligible to participate in Seniors' Golf. This enables you to play in all Seniors' competitions, roll-ups, and Seniors' inter-club matches.

Entrants in Seniors' competitions will each pay a competition entry fee.  Prize money will then be distributed to successful golfers, the amount of which will be determined by the number of participants in the relevant competition. Seniors' Monthly Competitions are played on a Thursday, the dates of which are shown in the Members Diary. Tee times can be booked online through the Intelligent golf portal.

The Seniors' Club Championship, Jimmie Muil & Seniors' Summer Singles are Honours Board competitions which have their own handicap requirements, the details of which will be found on the Club website or via Golf Operations.

There are 24 Seniors' inter-club friendly matches (which run from March to October) and 8 winter league matches (which run throughout the winter from October to February), the full details of which will be posted in Golf Reception in good time for each match. Seniors' home matches are played on Mondays.

Seniors' match organiser is Colm Doran who runs the Seniors' match and Winter league fixtures.  He will choose teams along with each match captain; keep players informed and appoint a match captain for the day.
The Golf Operations Committee member responsible for communications will liaise with Golf Operations to promote Seniors' golf on the Club website alongside Men's; Ladies'; Mixed and Junior golf.

Seniors' Roll-ups - the intention of roll-ups is to promote friendship and social interaction within the Seniors' golf membership.  Roll-ups are for both new and existing members to utilise a number of tee times which more or less guarantee a game, but for one reason or another, advance booking is not always possible or convenient. Roll-ups are currently played on a Thursday. Thursday roll-up tee times (when there is not a corresponding monthly competition) are between 08.00-08.20. Starting times are allocated in order of checking in at Golf Reception. Members are requested to roll-up from 07.15 at Golf Reception.

Paul Miles is currently the Seniors' Liaison representative on the Golf Operations Committee (which represents all the golfing Sections), and in turn is supported by Golf Operations.
